Modifications of polymers by irradiation, with ionizing radiation, in particular, is an expanding field of research and application because of its technical implications. The use of ion irradiation is getting high impetus because both chemical composition and related physical properties of polymers can be modified in a controlled way by easy-to-control parameters, like ion fluence (the number of particles bombarding on the target), ion beam energy. Conducting polymers are being extensively studied for their application in lot of new technologies and those have potential applications in electronic displays, as electrode materials in batteries, as molecular electronic circuit elements, in restoration of data, as indicators of gas meters and in bio-engineering. In this book, non-conducting polymers, namely, low density polyethylene (LDPE), polyethersulphone (PES) were modified with ion beam irradiation and conducting polyaniline was modified with chemical doping methods. Pre and post irradiation characteristics of polymers were investigated with UV - Vis, FTIR and Fluorescence, Mossbauer, Positron Annihilation Spectroscopy and Scanning Electron Microscope.
