Out of these 122 SMEs, 54 were manufacturing and 68 were non-manufacturing industries. The respondents were requested to express their opinion on numerous factors, which could be the probable reasons affecting TPM implementation in these SMEs. The research work is continued further to design, develop and implement a TPM system on a 600 & 800 ton mechanical press located in a cold forging unit of a manufacturing industry. The study has revealed that TPM provides ample opportunities for the manufacturing industries to improve their plant and equipment effectiveness.
