This study was designed to examine the influence of feeding berseem hay and green berseem to the post-weaned calves to improve growth performance of the calves and to know that which way of calf rearing is more economical and beneficial for the farmers. On the basis of present study, it was concluded that post weaned Kundhi buffalo calves fed on berseem hay gained more body weight than the calves fed with green berseem,The observation of rumen development was observed through weekly glucose and weekly ketone bodies level. Average blood glucose level of group A was significantly lower than that of group B. Average ketone bodies level of group A was significantly higher than that of group B,the feed conversion ratio (FCR) of post weaned Kundhi buffalo calves fed on green berseem was remarkably higher than that of calves fed with berseem hay and further it was also concluded that calves fed on berseem hay were more economical and gained more net profit as compared to the calves fed with green berseem.
