Teamwork in healthcare clearly holds the potential to improve the value of patient care services, in this book the factors that influence teamwork in the healthcare sector have been investigated in order to suggest improvement strategies using TQM principles. This study emphasized the positive influence of the input variables namely top management support, training, leadership and communication on teamwork. Communication was found to be the most significant independent variable having a strong relationship with the dependent variable of teamwork. Furthermore, the study has shed evident light for the importance for planning strategies to improve teamwork and collaborative relationships among healthcare providers at all levels to reduce medical errors and enhance staff satisfaction as well as perceptions of quality of patient care.
