Proteins are the most important and essential food components. The growth of the fish depends upon the quality of proteins in the diet. The scientific fish culture in India aims at a high rate of the survival and production of spawn, fry, fingerlings and table sized fish. The aim is achieved by fertilization of the ponds and by providing supplementary feeding to the fish stocks.
