In view of this alarming problem, the exploration of alternative and promising refrigerant having zero ODP and GWP with a suitable refrigeration system for the replacement of halogenated refrigerants is the need of the hour. In this regard, adsorption refrigeration system could be a unique solution. Because, it is well established that activated carbon developed from matured coconut shell hasan excellent gas adsorption properties and the process is exothermic, which becomes endothermic during desorption of gases.
