A large number of plants materials contain essential oils with extensive bioactivities. Acknowledging the importance of plants and its medicinal value, extraction of essential oil had been done using solvent extraction method from plant parts P. Atlantica. P. Atlantica is a wonder plant with a variety of applications and enormous economic potentials. Oil can be used in industrial applications as a soap industry to treat skin conditions. In this study, extraction of P. Atlantica oil from fruits and leaves was optimized based on the amount of the extracted oil and detection of oil properties the extract to use in the soap industry. The effect of main parameters on the extraction of oil including solvent type, solvent to solid ratio, extraction time and particle size of the plant sample ware studied. It tested specifications the extracted oil of P. Atlantica and the best combination of oils was calculated to give the required standards for the soap industry. The optimum conditions were found at 1 h. extraction time, particle size (leaves powder) of 0.25 mm and crushed fruits, a solvent to solid ratio of 20:1 v/w and ethanol as solvent.
