The objective of this work is to study the recyclability of selected styrene based polymeric materials namely, PS, ABS and PC-ABS blends. Material collection, cleaning, sorting, size reduction and granule and product characterizations are sequential activities done during study period. Basically, three characterizations namely chemical characterization (FTIR and EDX) analysis, Thermal (TGA, DSC and cone calorimeter) analysis and mechanical characterization (Tensile stress, Tensile modules and Elongation at break) of sorted styrene based polymeric materials was carried out. In addition to…mehr

In addition to compression molded samples, mechanical characterization of 3d printed and filament products were done during analysis and comparison of the three samples namely PS-HI, ABS-FR and PC-ABS was done and each individual items were compared within each other and one another in terms of different properties. Finally, after comparison of different properties of compression molded (CM), 3D printed and extruded filaments of the three samples, PS-HI sample shows better properties in all aspects and it is taken as the best sample for recyclability.
