Water molecules play a crucial role in determining the structure and function of protein, DNA and other organized assemblies. Restricted water significantly affects many biological processes. Advancement in laser spectroscopy has made it possible to study ultrafast initial steps of different chemical processes. Recently, several groups have used ultrafast laser spectroscopy to unravel the dynamics of confined molecules in different organized assembly. Followed by the experimental results many groups performed theoretical studies on dynamics in confined systems. The motivation behind these works is to understand effect of confinement in the biological and other organized assemblies. In the present book, we have applied femtosecond and picosecond laser spectroscopy to investigate various ultrafast processes in several organized assemblies.
