The majority of building structures are designed and constructed in reinforced concrete. In this days R.C.C is no longer economical because of their increased dead loads. However composite construction is a new concept for construction industry. There is a great potential for increasing the volume of steel in construction. In this study, steel concrete composite column with RCC column options are considered for comparative study of G+28 multi story residential building in earthquake zone IV. Analysis completed in E-Tabs software. Compare the various parameters like, story drift, story displacement, base reactions, time period, story axial force and story shear force. This study shows that composite structures are best option for high rise building compared to RCC building.
