Stylistics is a systematic, scientific study of the patterns of language use appearing in a variety of texts created by many authors or a single author. The present study is in the form of four chapters which aims at identifying the language style used by the author Mulk Raj Anand while portraying the various socio-cultural settings prevalent during the time the novel Untouchable was written. Through this novel, the author brings the variation in his language use with reference to the context and nature of the interlocutors.
