The milk of camel, like that of other dairy animals, contains all the essential nutrients and provides a nutritious food. Due to therapeutic utility of camel milk and consumption of raw camel milk has been in practice and also advocated due to destruction of therapeutic value of camel milk either by pasteurization or heating, the control and proper management of mastitis is further warranted towards production of safe pathogen free milk. Regular checkup of camel herd for mastitis is necessary to avoid secretion of pathogenic microbes in the milk and timely check of spread of the infection. The book covers various aspects of etiology, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mastitis in the Camel species.
