Subcontractors in Africa are faced with great challenges to performance measures from main contactors due to lack of best practices in project management, modern technological equipment and skilled resources availabilities to enable them execute projects efficiently. In increasing competitive global markets, accurate and efficient decision making has become more important in selection of qualified and capable subcontractors for installation and construction projects. Complex decision process requires a large number of criteria that needs to be simultaneously measured and evaluated. Many problems are faced by subcontractors during the execution of projects which results in poor subcontractor performance, characterized by poor work quality and low productivity. In order to meet project objectives accurately, the pre-qualification process should be logically complete and feasible to affect the criteria on the predominant project objectives. However, these studies have mainly focusedon selection of subcontracting pre-qualification and selection activities on project specific delivering methods.
