It's the summer of 1924 and Deirdre Carlisle is not looking forward to spending it at her uncle's remote seaside hotel in Nova Scotia. It could never compare to the Paris vacation she had been expecting. Before long, though, the Nova Scotia countryside begins to weave its charm and she starts to make friends with the other guests and hotel staff. Just as she thinks a quiet summer isn't so bad after all, the hotel is turned upside down by a series of thefts and it becomes apparent that the peaceful holiday retreat is housing a thief. Deirdre is determined to discover the perpetrator's identity, but her sleuthing uncovers more than she bargained for and the more involved she becomes the more she realizes that she doesn't know who to trust at, The Dunes.
