Born in Kyoto, Keiko Nitanai is the chief director of NPO corporation, and the founder of the Kyoto Antique Fabric Preservation Society. She researches the traditional apparel of Kyoto including oharame and maiko. As well as performing various activities to conserve Japanese clothes culture, she records its history.
