Former Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader, Phoenix Brown, is a writer/entertainer from Jacksonville, Arkansas. She received her B.A. in Media Communications with an emphasis in Editing and Publishing from Henderson State University. While attending Henderson, Phoenix served as a feature columnist for The Oracle, a disc jockey on The Pulse (KSWH 99.9FM), a member of the HSU dance company and the Co-ed cheerleading squad. After college, she became a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader, which allowed her to travel the world on USO tours to places like Afghanistan, Iraq, Japan and Korea to name a few. She has danced for entertainers such as Beyonce, Nelly, Tamia and is a member of The Movement of Agape. Phoenix is also a member of SCBWI and SAG-AFTRA. She has written in various publications such as the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader Weekly, Kite Tales Newsletter, and created Education Guides for the Pasadena Playhouse. As a member of the Screen Actors Guild, she volunteers with various non-profit organizations, including BOOKPALS; a student literacy program for Title 1 schools and PENCILPALS; a program that helps improve children's writing skills through pen paling. She holds an M.F.A in Creative Writing and was recently named a recipient of the 2014 Nikki Grimes Merit Award
