Dr. Than Singh Saini obtained Ph.D. in nonlinear fiber optics from Delhi Technological University, Delhi, India in 2016. Currently, he is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics, National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra, India. Prior to joining NIT Kurukshetra, he worked at national and internationally reputed institutions including CSIR-Central Scientific Instruments Organization (CSIO), Chandigarh, Optical Functional Materials Laboratory, Toyota Technological Institute, Nagoya, Japan, Indian Institute of Science Bangalore, India, University of Southampton, UK. He is working on experimental realization of specialty optical fibers for coherent mid-IR light sources, frequency comb generation, fiber optic parametric amplification, and fiber lasers. Dr. Saini is the member of SPIE and Optica (formerly OSA), USA. He has been the President of SPIE DCE Chapter for the year of 2015 & Vice President of OSA DCE Chapter at Delhi Technological University for the year of 2013 - 2014. He has been the recipient of the three best presentation awards on his excellent presentations in the international conferences (Awarded by SPIE & OSA). He has been awarded by the several international travel grants to present his research papers in the conferences at USA. Dr Saini has been the academic visitor of the Edward L. Ginzton Laboratory and Stanford Nano Shared Facilities (SNSF) at Stanford University, USA in August 2014 and the College of Optical Sciences, The University of Arizona, USA in October 2014. He has also attended Siegman International School on Laser at Stanford University, USA in 2014. He has also been the visitor of the International Research Centre for Nanophotonics and Metamaterials, The Metamaterials Laboratory, ITMO University (Saint-Petersburg National Research University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics), Saint Petersburg-199034, Russiaduring March 2017. Dr. Saini is the author and co-author of more than 100 research papers published in reputed international journals and conference proceedings. Prof R. K. Sinha completed M.Sc. Physics from IIT Kharagpur and Ph.D. (Fiber Optics and Optoelectronics) from IIT Delhi. He did his Post-Doctoral Research at Osaka and Kobe University in Japan and at I.I.Sc Bangalore during 1989-1991. He has worked at BITS Pilani, REC/NIT Hamirpur H.P. and at DCE/DTU-Delhi. He has established TIFAC-Center of Relevance and Excellence in Fiber Optics and Optical Communication under Technology Vision 2020 Program, Conceptualized and Executed B.Tech. Engineering Physics, M.Tech.(MOCE) and M.Tech. (NST)) at DTU Delhi. Prof Sinha has published over 380 research papers in Journals (174) and Conference Proceedings (206) and 07 book chapters and 03 books, originated 06 patents, supervised 22 sponsored projects and 20 Doctoral thesis. He is a Fellow of International Society of Optics and Photonics (SPIE), Fellow of IETE and Fellow of the OSI. He has served as Director of CSIR-CSIO Chandigarh, CEERI Pilani and IMTECH Chandigarh. He has mentored over 39 Technology development and transfer to the industry. He is recipient of Research Excellence Award of DTU for the year 2020, 2021 & 2022, Gold-Skoch Award for Defence Technology 2020 and CSIR Technology Award 2018. He is also a recipient of Fulbright-Nehru Fellowship 2013 as International Educational Administrator, Royal Academy of Engineering (UK) Fellowship 2008, JSPS Fellowship and Japanese Govt. Scholarship besides several awards for his research work. Currently, he is serving as Vice Chancellor of Gautam Buddha University, Greater Noida, UP on deputation from DTU Delhi. His research interests include Photonic Crystal and Metamaterial based Nano-Photonic Devices for Tele-come and Sensing Applications. He is recognized as top 2% scientists in the world in Optoelectronics and Photonics based on publications originated by Stanford University Faculty.
