Autorenporträt
Laura S. Brown, PhD, ABPP, has been a practitioner of feminist psychotherapy, supervision, and forensic psychology since the 1970s. As the author of the foundational text Subversive Dialogues: Theory in Feminist Therapy, in addition to 11 other books and more than 150 articles and book chapters, she has been a major contributor to theory and practice in the fields of feminist psychotherapy and trauma treatment. Dr. Brown has been featured in APA DVDs about feminist therapy, trauma treatment, and feminist approaches to supervision, and has also lectured on these and related topics in the United States, Canada, Israel, Taiwan, Australia, and Europe. From 2006 to 2015, she directed the Fremont Community Therapy Project, a feminist therapy training clinic that she founded. She is a fellow of nine APA divisions, the Association for Psychological Science, and the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation. A late-in-life student of aikido, Dr. Brown was working toward her black belt at the time of this book's publication.
