This book contains an analysis of workbooks and AV materials that were used along with a long distance English language TV programme for beginner level learners. The project was called the WELCOME English project. Furthermore, the author conducted theoretical research as well as had hands-on experience as a TV teacher and materials writer. Extensive field visits ensured connection with the learners as well as on-site teachers and their feedback. This book would greatly help researchers and teachers involved in developing second language materials for learners in scheduled areas.
