The aim of this book was to investigate into the supply chain Integration (SCI) drivers and practices that will enable the Ghanaian cocoa industry to boost her performance for competitive advantage, as well as challenges within the industry in Ghana. Cocoa is Ghana's primary cash crop, which provides about one-third of all export revenues; the cocoa production recorded a significant growth rate since the first shipment of cocoa from the then Gold Coast in 1885 and became the world's leading producer of cocoa in 1911, however; this enviable record was lost after 1983/84 seasons due to several factors including poor supply chain Integration. The book further talks about the recent improvement in performance for example; in 2011 Ghana recorded an unprecedented volume of a little over one million tonnes. There are positive indications that the Ghanaian cocoa industry could have a better future for its economy than ever before if fully adopts all the three aspects of SCI. In effect, the book will contribute to existing knowledge on SCI, the social and economic development in Ghana and beyond. Finally, it will serve as a springboard for further studies.
