French school, Koranic school, or even Franco-Arab school? We have not yet reached a consensus on the name of the Senegalese national school on the administrative level as on the content of the lessons. The work presented by this book returns to a particular area. He questions the educational policies put in place by the Senegalese state with regard to Koranic schools. Is taking charge of the latter simply a social action or does it follow a democratic and secular political will? Under what conditions are they supported? The study carried out within the framework of the city of Saint-Louis returns to all these questions and tries to answer them through field surveys at the level of certain daara.
