Forest has a great contribution in maintaining watershed health. If the forest cover is declined this could have an adverse impact on watershed health and the present study was conducted to investigate the disturbance forest cover depletion on surface water quality. When the forest cover becomes depleted, the ground floor converted to be barren. Thus when the precipitation occurs on the clear ground surface, less infiltration and thus more run-off occurs and thus the mentionable change has been recognized in the present study. Ultimately the fitness of the stream water may be lost for the aquatic organisms to live in. In some studies a macrophyte based ecosystem to a phytoplankton- or algal-based ecosystem was found to decline in the River due to the changes of nutrient cycling to stream water. To manage the situation it may be recommended to have dense vegetation cover particularly in the bank of the water bodies.
