Pietro Ruggieri is Chairman of the Department of Orthopedics and Orthopedic Oncology at the University of Padova and Director of the Scientific Center for Research of Musculoskeletal Tumors "Mario Mercuri". He graduated in Medicine at the University of Bologna, obtained Board Certification in orthopedics and his Ph.D. in Oncology from the same University. He was a fellow at the University of Florida under the direction of Dr. Enneking and Dr. Springfield and subsequently under Dr. Franklin Sim at Mayo Clinic. Author of more than 900 scientific papers, he has been lecturer more than 800 times at international congresses. He is Vice-President and President Elect of EMSOS; Board Member and Scientific Coordinator for EFORT; Editor in Chief of EOTEP (European Orthopedics and Traumatology Education Platform) for EFORT; Past President and Secretary General of ISOLS; Chair of MSTS Specialty Day 2020/2021; Chair of the Education Centres Committee of SICOT. His main fields of researchare musculoskeletal oncology, reconstructive surgery, and prostheses in musculoskeletal oncology. Andrea Angelini is Associate Professor of Orthopedics at the Department of Orthopedics and Orthopedic Oncology, University of Padova. He obtained his medical degree (cum laude) at the University of Bologna. He obtained board certification in orthopedic surgery at the University of Bologna and Istituto Ortopedico Rizzoli, followed by a Ph.D. in oncology and experimental pathology at the University of Bologna. His main field of interest is surgery for musculoskeletal tumors and spine. He is editor of three books, contributor of 26 published book chapters and numerous scientific papers. Peer-reviewer for about 30 journals (awarded as top peer-reviewer in the field of Medicine in 2016). Member of the editorial board of three indexed journals, Vice-Chair of the SICOT Tumours Committee, ISOLS delegate for virtual ICM on VTE, active participant of the European Orthopaedics& Traumatology Education Platform (EOTEP). He has held courses of musculoskeletal pathology, talks in several international meetings and is co-author of more than 200 meeting abstracts. He has received awards for his scientific work from EFORT, SIOT, EMSOS, and ISOLS.
