Osteogenesis imperfecta is characterized by bone fragility. It is a genetic defect responsible for osseous and extraosseous manifestations of variable expression. Its management has been a long road, from identification and classification to medical treatment and surgical management. The wealth of bibliography published in recent years demonstrates the interest of medical research in this pathology. Surgery has moved on from the era of bone fragmentation, allowing alignment of the diaphyses and restraint with a single SOFIELD nail, to the minimally invasive techniques with restraint with a telescopic nail by BAILLEY and DUBOW or others. The telescopic pinning introduced by METAIZEAU is part of this arsenal. Spinal surgery has undergone enormous advances, which have improved the vital prognosis in this pathology. The outcome of any surgical procedure depends not only on technical mastery, but also on multidisciplinary management.
