Dieses Buch untersucht das Weiterleben dieser Utopien bis zum Beginn des zweiten Weltkrieges, ihre Wirkungen bis in die Gegenwart in Österreich und Ungarn und beleuchtet Kontinuitäten und Differenzen innerhalb der (bildungs-)politischen und kulturellen Strömungen beider Länder. Im Zentrum steht die Frage nach Zusammenhängen zwischen pädagogischen Utopien und Strategien und den Entwicklungen von kollektiver Identität in Zeiten politischer und gesellschaftlicher Umbrüche und Verunsicherungen.

András Németh is professor for Theory and History of Education at the Department of Education in the Faculty of Education and Psychology at Eötvös-Loránd University (ELTE) in Budapest. Claudia Stöckl is research assistant at the Department for Educational Sciences at the University of Graz. Beatrix Vincze is research assistant and lecturer at the Department of Education in the Faculty of Education and Psychology at Eötvös-Loránd University (ELTE) in Budapest. András Németh ist Professor für Theoretische und Historische Pädagogik am Institut für Erziehungswissenschaft an der Fakultät für Erziehungswissenschaft und Psychologie der Eötvös-Loránd Universität (ELTE) in Budapest.
