The purpose of this explanatory qualitative case study was to explore the subject oil company's leaders sustainability practices in the Niger Delta Region (NDR) of Nigeria and the derivative effects, and thereby provide the oil company's leadership with information for improving their sustainability program and to gain increased support for its continuing operations. The recommendations from the study provided a holistic framework to help oil companies' executives increase economic, social, and environmental performance in the NDR. The oil companies' leaders could improve business practices by reducing the impact of oil production on the environment and social imbalance without compromising profitability (Hart & Milstein, 2003; Stocchetti, 2012). The oil industry may benefit from the findings by implementing the recommendations to address the socioeconomic and environmental concerns to increase citizens' support for their sustainability projects and continuing operations within the region.
