Sustainable Development is the future of Law. It is yet to transform into positive law backed by sanctions from the area of soft international law. Industrial revolution, colonialism in the past and terrorism in the twenty first century has brought into light the real nature of human beings and their 'not so genuine' concerns towards sustainability of the planetary resources and collective well-being respectively. When contemporary human growth patterns are harmonized with inter-generational equitable considerations only then shall it lead to development which can be called sustainable. Cycle of development is as perennial as this planet itself. If the idea of dialectical materialism of Marx is developed from circular to the spiral motion it shall generate the process of sustainable development. Each cycle of thesis antithesis and synthesis in the form of harmonized principles of socio-economic and environmental concerns shall produce a new and larger circle of development every time.
