The urge for economic growth and the competition created as a result have caused multifarious problems on the environment. As a response, in the early 1970 s there arose a growing concern regarding the impact of economic growth on social development and the environment leading to the foundation of global environmental institutions. Almost 20 years after the institutionalization of modern environmental policies governments of developed states began to consider more comprehensive approaches linking environment and development decision makings: sustainable development . To this end, all nation states are forced to design their own policy framework to help attain sustainable development. Accordingly, the government of Ethiopia has recently designed developmental strategies that is said to put Ethiopia in the right track. This book evaluates the developmental strategies- the investment and environmental policy- framework of the country and examine to what extent these policies are integrated to achieve sustainable development goals.

Addiswork Tilahun was born in 1985, completed her secondary education in Hawassa SOS H.G.School. She has got her LL.B degree from Hawassa University with great honor in 2008. Her LL.M degree is from University of Warwick in 'Law in Development¿, 2011. Now, she is a lecturer in Debre Markos University Law School where, she is one of the founders.
