Analyzing the Danish island of Samsø, this book explains sustainability through a biogeophysical lens of how to best use Earth's limited resources to achieve true sustainability. The methods used derive from the thermodynamic functions of exergy. The exergy-based approach is an important tool for monitoring the indicators of sustainability.
