This piece of work highlights sustainability aspects of tourism development in Sikkim. It was started in 2006 and continued till 2014 to give it a complete shape. In fact, no study have so far been thrown light upon the sustainable practices of a popular tourism prepared state in North East India. The indicators used this study were adopted from Sustainable Tourism manual brought out by world bodies like UNWTO, WTTC etc. from time to time. The study incorporates both primary and secondary data to arrive at conclusions. Each of the chapter from chapter three onwards were a good mixture of both primary and secondary information relevant in this field of study. This work might pave the way for further study to address the issues of sustainability for touristically important destinations.
