Trough the range of complex and interacting issues surrounding tourism in Asian megacities is vast; research on these issues is rare and limited. The challenge is to examine and to explore the sustainability of tourism activities in Asian megacities. This book focuses on tourism activities in Jakarta, with using Jalan Jaksa, a central backpackers' and youth independent tourist district as the study area. This book examines how Jalan Jaksa exists within the context increasing demand for quality tourism and barriers to sustainable tourism. By using SWOT analysis and its matrix, comparative analysis and local socio-political analysis, this book provides some recommendations for tourism in Jalan Jaksa.
