Elaine is considered a renaissance woman, as she not only writes and paints, but also plays multiple instruments, sings, and has a Master's Degree in International Affairs. She spent three months in Sweden researching her great grandmother's life and learning the language, and has studied Russian also. She has taught college several years and worked for many years as a high school teacher in Northern California.
