Autorenporträt
Maryam Smith is a licensed psychologist, a vocalist, an occasional poet and a spiritual seeker. She was born in Tehran, Iran. Exposure to Persian poetry through her father who was a poet, particularly the works of Hafiz and Rumi, left a mark on her understanding and valuation of the transcendental aspect of poetry and the arts. She moved to London, England in her early teens where she pursued her curiosity of sciences and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Chemistry. During this time, she explored various spiritual teachings on the evolution of consciousness. Practicing the teachings of the Fourth Way method since her twenties, her inner work was catalyzed by Avatar Sri Sathya Sai Baba who appeared in her life and made His presence known to her when it was time. Maryam moved to the United States in the late eighties and currently resides in northern California working as a psychologist.
