David has also enjoyed a distinguished career in the world of public service.He served as the chief of staff for a member of the Florida State Senate and served as the campaign manager and legislative aide to, at that time, the youngest woman ever elected to the Florida House of Representatives.David is master certified in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and has earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Florida International University. He has trained in the martial arts for more than 15 years and holds a second-degree black belt in Aikido. David is also an accomplished motorcycle racer who has competed against top-level racers throughout Colorado.David is married to Dr. Lorena Lavarne and they have one son, Josh. They spend their time at their homes in Colorado and Oregon
