A sample size of 120 farmers of Anna Nagar Farmer's Market were the respondents of this study. Arithmetic mean, Percentage analysis, Multiple regression, Garrette ranking method and Path analysis were used to analyze the collected data. The findings of this study will assist policy makers and think tanks to develop appropriate strategies for effective functioning of farmer's market. The training need areas identified, strength, weakness and opportunity explored in association with threat factors will assist in effective agricultural marketing of farmers produce thereby assuring prosperity through effective sale of agricultural produce without middle men or commission agents. The study will assist in developing institutional linkages and offer a platform for the farming community to reap a larger share in consumer rupee.

Dr.T.Raj Pravin is working as Assistant Professor in Department of Agricultural Extension, Annamalai University. This research project undertaken with TNSCST fellowship bagged the Best Post Graduate Thesis Award from TNAU. He is also a recipient of GRD Rolling Cup from PSG College and T.Natraj Rolling Shield for Best Extension Research from TNAU.
