In the written part of my artistic diploma Symphony No. 1 ("Classical") by Sergei Prokofiev, I begin by tracing the composer's life. I explain the most important character traits that influenced his work - such as his love of opera and his political ignorance. I describe in detail his life up to the composition of the Classical and only briefly examine the following 35 years (which he spent partly abroad and partly in the USSR). Then I bring a general consideration of the symphony in the form of a summary of various scholarly sources. The second half of the written diploma consists of my independent analysis of the work by movements with musical examples, which I wrote in preparation for the performance. I then describe the gala concert in which I conducted the work with the "mdw Chamber Orchestra" (now "Webern Kammerphilharmonie") in November 2016.

Nacida en Eslovenia en 1986, Jera Petri¿ek Hrastnik completó sus estudios de francés y ruso en 2010 tras graduarse en un instituto clásico (2005) y luego se dedicó a la dirección de orquesta. Desde 2011 vive en Viena con su marido y sus dos hijos, donde trabaja como músico (director de orquesta, director de coro y cantante).
