The valorization of African languages is an imperative nowadays. This will requires an educational system that integrates national languages. This is a salutary ambition that rightly calls for research, because it is from the results that school textbooks will be obtained. In this process of standardization, it is a question of setting up a grammar for each language, if possible, in order to define the rules of use. Since each language is unique, there is the problem of the properties of its functioning. In this book, the author focuses on a syntactic study of perception reports in French and in Éwòndò, a language spoken in Cameroon. The aim is to define the constructional properties of the verbs of perception in this Bantu language, compared to those of French. Based on the model of description of dependency grammar (Tesnière, 1965), it will be shown that the verbs of perception of French and Ewòndò present structural similarities and demarcations.

Marie Nga Owona nasceu nos Camarões. Tem um doutoramento em gramática. É professora de escolas secundárias gerais e foi formada na École Normale Supérieure em Yaoundé. Actualmente é professora de francês na escola secundária bilingue de Nkol-eton em Yaoundé, onde supervisiona os professores estudantes para a formação prática.
