Heterocyclic chemistry represents the prevalent and diverse group of organic compounds which has started with the development of organic chemistry. Now a days, it has become one of the most composite and fascinating branch of organic chemistry and many versatile aspects are known that invade most of the aspects of modern organic, pharmaceutical, biochemical, agrochemical and other fields. Due to the wide range of structural diversity, the heterocyclic compounds have high degree of applications in biology, optics, electronics, material science, agriculture and medicinal field. In last few decades, azoles have come under considerable attention due to their increased synthetic and biological importance. Considering above applications and object of heterocyclic compounds, here we done the synthetic work for obtaining known and new bioactive heterocycles (Azoles). Hence the present work entitled "Synthesis and Characterization of Potentially Active Azoles" was undertaken and the details of the synthetic work, characterizations of the intermediates and desired products have been presented in this book.
