The recorded XRD profile of Sm3+, Dy3+ and Eu3+ doped zinc strontium bismuth borate glass respectively have confirmed the amorphous nature without exhibiting any single or polycrystalline phases. The density of glasses is decreasing with doping item and increasing with composition. The increase in the rare earth doped composition in the glass matrix enhance various optical parameters such as refractive index, polaron radius, inter-ionic distance, molar refractivity, electronic polarizability, dielectric constant and density. The transmittance spectra of FT-IR confirmed the triangular BO3 structure. The effect of resistance on electric properties, relaxations, peaking behaviour permittivity and loss are obtained. This kind of behaviour may be due to grain boundary effect which opposes the mobility of charges and indicates that the synthesized compositions are good candidate materials for low conducting glass material manufacturing applications which need low eddy currents. The lowglass forming ability is noticed as approximately 1950C. With these results it is an established fact that the glass forming ability of Dy3+ doped glasses is two times smaller than that of Sm3+ glasses.
