Metal Complexation of 7-Aminodeacetoxycephalosporanic acid (7-ADCA) with Copper, Cadmium, Silver, and Cerium were carried out in methanol and water. Nature of complexes was characterized by FTIR results and quantitative composition of compounds with respect to amount of Carbon, Hydrogen, Nitrogen & Sulphur was also confirmed by CHNS tests (elemental analysis) for structure elucidation. The characteristic value of the max by U.V. visible spectrophotometer was also taken in to consideration while determining the structure of the complex. The sulfonamide derivatives of 7-ADCA with benzene sulfonyl chloride and para-toluene sulfonyl chloride were also synthesized and recrystallized in methanol, ethanol and ethyl-acetate. These synthesized sulfonamide derivatives were also characterized by using FT-IR, CHNS (elemental analysis) and UV-Visible Spectroscopy. Crystals were grown in methanol and ethyl acetate in (2:1) ratio and subjected to single crystal X-ray diffraction technique but unfortunately weak diffraction pattern was observed from which crystal solution was not possible.
