Chemistry of tellurium organic compounds has intensively been developing in recent decades. The increased interest in this field is due to widely use of these substances as catalysts in organic reaction, inhibitors of metal corrosion, insecticides, fungicides, components of special photographic materials, pharmaceuticals etc. This work describes the synthesis ,characterization and biological activity of some new organotellurium compounds and computational studies of these compounds and compared with the corresponding organoselenium ompounds.Organotellurium compounds were prepared containing…mehr

This work describes the synthesis ,characterization and biological activity of some new organotellurium compounds and computational studies of these compounds and compared with the corresponding organoselenium ompounds.Organotellurium compounds were prepared containing azomethine group, azo group and unsymmetrical organotellurium compounds. The anti-tumor activity of some compounds was examined against two types of tumor cells which are PC-3 (prostate cancer) and T24 (bladder cancer), while antioxidant activity of the some compound was studied against stable radical DPPH. The computational study of some organotellurium and corresponding organoselenium compounds were performed by Material studio 5.5 and Gaussian 09, using the DFT method at the B3LYP level of theory and LanL2dz as basis set.
