In the present work we also thought it expedient, to conduct reactions in water under microwave irradiation to speed them up and then achieving total green chemical synthesis.Reactions under MWI though having the major drawback of not being suitable for scale-up to bulk quantities, this technique offers the advantages of being efficient and rapid and thus finds great utility as a tool in New Drug Discovery Research (NDDR) for the high throughput automated parallel syntheses of diverse compound libraries. We also thought to take take up this technique to generate focussed libraries of potentially bioactive aminothiazole derivatives using inexpensive and easily available water as the solvent. We planned this work to the synthesis of 2-aminothiazoles by the reaction of phenacyl bromides with thiouea/thioamides in water under microwave. Thus, the aim of the present work was to undertake rapid, facile, eco-friendly green chemical synthesis of potentially bio-active 2-amino-4-arylthiazoles(Ia-e-VIa-e).
