In this book, the authors have highlighted on the synthesis pathway to procure efficient Fe NPs. They have dealt with a facile co-precipitation synthetic protocol for preparing -Fe2O3, Au/ -Fe2O3 and Pd/ -Fe2O3 NPs with varying size range. Furthermore, a detailed characterization of the synthesized materials was carried out by XRD, TEM, and FT-IR analysis. From the analytical results, it was comprehended that pure phase of NPs were formed and excellent morphology of the synthesized particles were observed. Catalytic activities of -Fe2O3 and Au/ -Fe2O3 was also investigated towards benzylation of aromatic substrates. With respect to the robust nature of the catalyst, recycling experiments were performed that showed excellent activity without any significant loss. Thus, this book comprises of a detailed study on synthesis, characterization and prospective applications of Fe NPs. Great emphasis has been provided towards the simplification of analytical results which is believed to be useful for undergraduate as well as post graduate students. This book surely provides an insight into the beautiful and fascinating world of research in chemistry and allied fields.
