The escalating global demand for sustainable water management strategies has prompted the exploration of innovative approaches for wastewater treatment. This project introduces a comprehensive four-stage filtration system, leveraging diverse materials to enhance the quality of wastewater sourced from Vuyyuru Sugar Factory. The study encompasses a series of distinct stages, each contributing uniquely to the overarching goal of efficient pollutant removal. Prior to initiating the project, an extensive series of water tests was conducted on the collected sample from Vuyyuru Sugar Factory and INCHEM Laboratories Pvt.LTD. These pre-project tests aimed to characterize the initial water quality, identifying key pollutants and parameters. The results served as a baseline for evaluating the effectiveness of the subsequent filtration stages. In Stage 1, the wastewater undergoes filtration utilizing various sizes of coarse and fine aggregates in a filtration tank with a capacity exceeding 100 liters. The experiment employs standardized methods to assess the impact of aggregate size on the removal of suspended solids and other particulate matter.
