Curcumin as an interesting molecule from Mother Nature is worthy for further exploration in attempts to synthesis a novel curcuminiods and their metal complexes in order to improve and enhance its medicinal value. In this study a series of novel curcumin derivatives have been synthesized and characterized through ATR-FTIR, MS, 1HNMR and 13CNMR. As a result it was demonstrates that the newly synthesized curcuminiods existed entirely in the ketoenol form rather than diketo form, because the enol form of curcumin is significantly more stable that the various diketo forms.
