This book involves synthesis of a number of imidazole derivatives starting with Schiff bases. N-benzylidineareneamines (I) synthesized by condensation of primary aromatic amines with aromatic aldehydes in boiling ethanol. Benzene sulfonyl chloride reacts with these Schiff bases in dry benzene to give N-( -chloridbenzyl) benzene sulfonanilides (II). This book involves synthesis of a number of imidazole derivatives starting with Schiff bases. These iso-thioureas(III) are condensed with bezoin in DMF to offer imidazole derivatives: -[N-aryl-N-benzenesulfonyl] aminobenzyl-2-thio-4,5diphenyl imidazole (IV).Some imidazole derivatives have anti-inflammatory, anti-arthritic, anti-allergic and immune stimulating activity; therefore, we hope that our prepared compounds may have biological activity.
