Malaria is one of the most fatal diseases all over the world. To combat this, many researches are going on according to modern concept of development of antimalarial agent. At present, various heterocycles plays an important role of antimalarial potential like chloroquine, mefloquine, ferroquine and many more. However, the synthetic drugs have several side effects too, like diarrhea, dizziness, headache, vomiting, etc. So the need of hour suggests curing this lethal disease with minor side effects. During the past years many synthetic drug scaffolds have been evolved as potential antimalarial agents. The remarkable therapeutic potential revealed by the different derivatives encouraged the authors to undertake the present work. The present book entitled, "Synthetic strategies of potential antimalarial agents" has been divided into under mentioned chapters. Chapter 1 deals with the current status of malaria, life cycle of plasmodium parasite. In Chapter 2, synthetic methods of heterocycles having one nitrogen atom like quinolines, pyridines are reported. Chapter 3 describes the synthesis of heterocycles with two nitrogen atom like pyrazoles, benzimidazoles with antimalarial activity.
