The first chapter of the work deals with introductory part of the research. The fundamentals of the study have articulated, and reliability definitions by different authors have examined. Common reliability measures, definitions of some terms and major division of reliability have highlighted.The system configuration of various types, reliability improvement, and system variables/parameters were explained. The statement of the problem, objectives of the research work was critically examined. Eventually, the significance of the study was explained. Chapter Two of the research work presented a review of the existing literature. Materials and methodology of the research work have presented in chapter three of the study. The system block diagram, states descriptions, notations, assumptions, states transition diagram and formulation of a mathematical model of the study were outlined as usual as in any research of this type. Results and discussion are presented in Chapter Four of the research work. Finally, Chapter Five consists of summary, conclusion derived from the various results obtained and recommendations.

The author received his B. Sc from Bayero University Kano, Nigeria, M. Sc, Mathematics from Kano University of Science and Technology, Wudil, Nigeria. He is currently working as a lecturer with the Mathematics Department at Kano College of Education and preliminary studies. His research fields are Reliability Modeling and Mathematical Modelling.
