This book 'System requirements engineering & elicitation- An approach to system design' provides information on system stakeholders, types of systems, phases of development of an onsite dialysis system and its capabilities. This book presents information on systems engineering processes along various stages of system development. The systems engineering requirements process include customer requirements, functional requirements and performance requirements, all of which have been dealt in-depth. The viewpoints of key stakeholders are captured using qualitative methods using questionnaires and interviews. The information obtained, analysed and requirements elicited. Using criteria 'treatment requirements' elicited from patients; and 'types of dialysis procedures' elicited from the clinicians, the research arrives at a decision hierarchy solved using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). This research employs Quality Function Deployment (QFD) in identifying needs of patients and the clinicians. QFD was developed interfacing the needs of patients with the needs of clinicians.
