Violence against pregnant women is considered by various authors as a situation of coercion and domination of a person towards her, including physical aggression, sexual or emotional violence. This type of violence has a worldwide prevalence between 1% and 70% and it is not known exactly if there are preventive programs to address this public health problem.The objective of this introductory text is to systematically review the bibliographic contributions related to preventive programs for gender violence in women, with special emphasis on pregnant women.
